What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a complementary therapy where it is believed that every person has different dietary needs – depending on their age, genetics, and health concerns – where everyone eats a different type of diet.

Every individual is understood as somehow different from one another. That is why there is no one fit and standard approach to this therapy. It works more as a nutritional web therapy where it is about finding what the clients’ needs are and tailoring the diet especially for them.

How it works?

First of all, there will be an initial consultation. During the initial consultation, everything about your health history, your family history, any medications you have been taking, and your current diet and lifestyle will be recorded. With all this information gathered, the Nutritional Therapist (NT) can have a really good picture of what is happening in your body.

Then we book the follow-up consultation, where the NT present the plan tailored specifically for you.

A lot of times, the plan consists of three parts: (1) nutrition, (2) supplements, and (3) lifestyle changes. When you get this plan, it is recommended that you follow it for four to six weeks and come back in the Practice for a follow up – so the NT can see how you managed to implement the plan and all the changes, and the sort of results you were able to attain.

What are the benefits of going to a Nutritional Therapist?

Google is a great source of information nowadays. However, a lot of the information are misleading that you may think you are eating a very healthy diet, but it turns out, you are not. When you start to learn about healthy eating through the help of a Nutritional Therapist, you will understand that a lot of the principles you applied does not really suit your body or your condition.

Since our priority is providing the highest quality of care to our patients, we have Belinda Wix in the Practice to tend to your current state of wellness. Should you have any questions about our Nutritional Therapist, let us know by contacting us here.

As always, thank you for choosing our practice!
