Breathing Issues
Mouth breathing is a concerning issue but some strategies for parents to improve the breathing of their child includes:
- ensuring that your child can breathe through their nose easily
- book your child in for a dentist appointment as soon as possible, by the age of one
- ensure your child is treated for allergies by a health professional as sometimes allergies can force children to mouth breathe
- confirm that your child’s diet and environment are a contributing factor to allergies
- if your child is mouth breathing, ask your dentist if they need a referral to an orthodontist
