Preferred Providers … what are they?

• Many providers have taken up contracted provider schemes with Health Insurance Funds, where an agreed fee is charged to patients for pre-determined fees for treatment. Providers agree to this with the hope to receive more patients as they receive more patients at lower fees.

• Fixed Price Treatment automatically limits the time, type and quality of service your child receives. This in effects dictates the treatment they receive as opposed to the treatment they actually require.

• Preferred Provider status limits the fewer claimable services in the same calendar year compared to an unaffiliated provider.
